The Knitorious RBG Sweater Test Knit

In November and December, I committed my knitting to this AMAZING test knit for Park Williams celebrating Ruth Bader Ginsburg. And since today is RBG's birthday, I thought it would be a great time to share it.

There were some adventures along the way. I decided to make the full-length version instead of the cropped version, and I couldn't find the yarn at any of my LYSs, so I had to order it online. It took foreverrrrr to get here, which isn't ideal when you're under a test knit deadline!

Pattern: The Knitorious RBG by Park Williams
Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca in Pitch Black and Natural

I was at the finish line when I rain out of the black yarn just three days before the deadline. I called LYSs that were a little bit out of the way, and luckily Sun Dragon Art & Fiber in Brevard, North Carolina, had what I needed.

Alex and I drove the 45 minutes there on a Sunday and made it a day, eating at Rocky's Grill & Soda Shop and walking around downtown. I'm so grateful to Sun Dragon for helping me out!

I'm still not sure how I feel about bubble sleeves. I love that there is no decreasing or increasing to worry about as you're knitting it, but I still feel a little strange wearing them. I had to push them up when I was eating because they kept getting in the food. 🤣 But overall, I'm happy to pay tribute to such a cool lady, even if I do so with food on my sleeves.
