Fingerless Mitts from Adorable Alpacas

In April, Alex and I visited some of his family in New Mexico, and we were lucky enough to squeeze in a visit to an alpaca farm, Que Sera Alpacas in Santa Fe. (See adorable alpaca photos.)

These are the first projects I made from the alpaca yarn. (And trust me, more alpaca projects to come because I LOADED UP on yarn there!)

Pattern: Fingerless Mitts by Suzanne Wadsworth
Yarn: Que Sera Alpacas DK in Dark Opal and Que Sera Alpacas Confetti (Black)

These simple yet lovely mitts were designed by my knitting group friend Suzanne. She's super talented, so make sure you check out her other designs, too!

I gifted these mitts to our New Mexico hosts, Ricki and Scott. They didn't blink an eye when I said I wanted to visit an alpaca farm, and they were kind enough to drive us out there and squeeze it into our busy schedule. We all had a really great time petting the sweet alpacas.

Like I mentioned in my previous alpaca post, the owner Anne spins and dyes all the yarn herself, which I think is just amazing. Can you imagine raising these adorable animals and then getting to control the entire process from alpaca to yarn? That's the life, man.
