I originally started using magic loop only for socks, but then I went crazy and started using it for things like two-at-a-time sweater sleeves and even mittens. Sometimes I still pull out my trusty 16" circulars, but magic loop makes things so much easier, especially for things like hats that require multiple needle sizes and different types of needles.
Pattern: Basic Ribbed Brim Hat designed by me (FREE!) plus Magic Loop Tutorial
Yarn: Cloudborn Superwash Highland Worsted in Charcoal Heather (hat) and Graphite Heather (pompom)
The free hat pattern and tutorial go together, but you can also use them individually. So for example, if you want to knit a hat pattern you already have in magic loop, you can just use the tutorial to get a general idea of how magic loop works with hats.
I've become a magic loop convert over the years, and I hope you'll give it a try. Let me know what you think!
It has rightly been said by fashion gurus that year 2010 is and will continue to be an interesting and exciting year for fashion. With the end of the global financial crisis and recession trend, an upheaval in the fashion world was seen in the beginning of the year and this is continuing.
